eCLTC Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions about the CLTC eLearning Course

How does the CLTC eLearning program differ from the CLTC Master Class?

Unlike the live 2 day Master Class, eLearning allows the student to be in total control of when and where the course is taken. This self-study, on demand program is comprised of 13 Learning Segments and hosted on a multi-media platform which is accessible 24/7. Each Segment contains Learning Objectives, Assessment quizzes and 30 to 50 minutes of video recording of an actual live Master Class. All eLearning content is taken from the same CLTC course text as the Master Class.

How much time should I schedule to study the eLearning course and prepare for the final examination?

It is recommended that the student allocate 60 to 90 minutes for each Learning Segment in order to maximize the total learning experience. In addition, the course text serves as a valuable resource in reviewing the key LTC planning topics.

How do I access the CLTC eLearning course and what restrictions do I have?

Once the student is registered, a user name and password will be issued allowing full access to the course. Each Learning Segment can be reviewed as many times as needed, including all videos.

What if I forget my login information?

If you forget or misplace your login information, you can have it emailed to you by clicking on the "Forgot Your Password?" utility on the eLearning login page.

Do I need to view the modules in numerical order?

No. The modules can be viewed in any order, however, you need to view all 13 before taking the exam.

Is there a time limit to complete the eLearning program?

Students have full access to the course for 120 days from the day they register.

What is the final examination process for obtaining the designation?

The CLTC final exam is comprised of 100 multiple-choice questions and can be completed online. Students must obtain a score of 70% or higher to pass. Please refer to the Exam Procedures section for full details, including the proctor guidelines.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You are given three attempts to pass the exam. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you may go back and take the exam again at any time. If you use up all three attempts, please call Insurance Study at 866-339-3900.

What are the tuition costs and options?

The tuition is $1095 plus a $70 matriculation fee. This covers all course expenses including online access to the CLTC course handbook. A hard copy of the handbook can be ordered for $25. Tuition discounts are available for CLTC sponsors and are listed on the registration form.

What does the matriculation fee cover?

The matriculation fee covers registration, the exam fee, CE processing, and shipping and handling of course materials.

Are there any tuition reimbursements available?

Many organizations support CLTC and offer tuition reimbursements. Please check with your agency manager or trainer for details.

What Continuing Education credits are earned with the passing of the final exam?

The eLearning online course is a self-study correspondence course. CE credits are only awarded after a student passes the online CLTC exam. You will receive 8-16 state insurance CE credits, (depending on the state). CFP and Pace credits may be selected at registration.
