Business & Estate Planning Advisor
After graduating with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984 with a BS in Business Administration and Finance, Grant served for two years as the Extension Director of his college fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He joined the Hoopis Financial Group in 1986 and has attained the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
Grant specializes as an Estate & Business Planning Advisor where he not only works with his own clients, he also serves as a resource nationally for other financial advisors working jointly with their clients addressing estate, business and executive benefit planning needs. During his career, Grant has spoken at several industry meetings on estate and business planning topics. He has served on numerous occasions as a faculty member for an Advanced Business Planning School of a major U.S. life insurance company. He has also served as an instructor for the American College’s HS331 Planning for Business Owners & Professionals class.
Grant actively works with his personal clients on risk management areas that include life, disability and long term care insurance as well as retirement & estate planning issues. He works with his business clients in the areas of buy/sell planning, succession & estate planning and key employee benefit planning.
Grant is a member of NAIFA, AALU, the Society of Financial Services Professionals, the Chicago Association of Life Underwriters and the Million Dollar Round Table as a Life Member. He is also a member of the National Eagle Scout Association as a Life Member.
Grant resides in Hawthorn Woods, IL (a suburb of Chicago) with his wife of 27+ years, Betsy. They have two adult children, Ashley & Ben. He is an avid golfer and enjoys tennis and travel. As an Eagle Scout, he participates when possible in scouting activities.
