"I am a training manager with Freedom 55 Financial and I use HPN for every new advisor as part of their initial training, as well as a once-monthly training session for everyone under four years. We use the entire collection by the time they have reached the four-year mark and some we repeat. We also assign some of the self-study material and have several advisors who use the self-study videos to give themselves a motivational boost as required."

"I am a rep and I put it in my calendar and use the self study curriculum on a weekly basis. I am able to take at least one thing from it every week. It not only provides me a refresher on language or concepts, but it also improves my attitude and motivation. I have even recorded some on my phone and play them back in my car. Regardless of your tenure in the business, I think everyone will benefit from the self study curriculum. It's just like everything else, you get out of it what you put in. If you commit to spending 15 or 30 minutes once a week to your practice, it will help."

"I run the training and development for four general agencies in New England with Northwestern Mutual. HPN has been a great resource for our unique shared program.
In our initial start up training, I "book end" a training topic and speaking engagement with HPN videos. So if the topic of the morning is PHONING, we will start with a HPN Phoning Video, learn the basics, have a speaker and then cap it off with another HPN Video. We traditionally do this with all intial training modules. Also all reps under two years are sent off an HPN self study curriculum video every Monday via email. With the easy MOBILE access, the reps can just click and watch a 6 minute video and then reflect on it and how it fits in to their real world practice with their peers at their weekly agency meeting.
Lastly, the articles that are posted on HPN can make the lives of our in-house agency development personnel easier as they don't have to be redundant in the content they offer their reps.
Usually for an hour each month (in the first week) I will block off "Hoopis Time." I will watch the newest videos and see which ones should be implemented into my programs.
Big thanks to Joey Davenport for putting together the programs om HPN to make our trainings and development relevant and engaging.

"The 30 plus financial representatives/financial advisors/wealth management advisors as well as nearly 30 staff people and 20 plus interns in the office use this resource in a variety of ways. Our director of development uses this tool as a resource for skill building with our new financial reps. Our mentors are using the pre-set curriculum to facilitate meetings with the people they work with. Many of us use it for daily reinforcement of motivation. I think the common denominator is that we all know there is a plethora of things that this resource can be used for and we continue to log in to learn and grow because we know there is constantly new tools added to aid in our growth, conviction, and development.

"I'm a District Director w/ Northwestern Mutual in the Madison, WI area. We also use this highly useful tool in a variety of ways in our office. We will use some of the video content and training curriculum for our bi-weekly skill builders. We use some of the videos that correlate to our training modules in our initial sales school. Most importantly is the ongoing use and learning that goes on when our new reps get into the field. If they are struggling in a particular area we direct them to HPN to get some insight beyond the advice we can give. Sometimes someone else has a way of saying something that resonates more w/ a certain individual. We find that happens frequently when we direct people to HPN."

"Some of the best tools on HPN for me and the Team are the motivational videos on the site. I am a very strong believer in EQ before IQ, so if the Team can stay positive, motivated, and in overall great spirits then that helps everyone at the office. I'm also finding that the FSA's are listening to different presentations in their vehicles on the way to appointments with the mobile site. Which is a great way to keep your mind on the work at hand; also a few memory joggers or new ideas never can hurt either.
I take away great ideas, strategies, and insight from this group of professionals in their respective fields. So again thank you all!

"We've been using the HPN for 18 months and have developed 3 streams;
1) the disillusioned learner with high potential - 12 to 48 months in the career with some success. There is a weekly facilitated session featuring a roundtable followed by a HPN video followed by goal setting for the upcoming week. (This has recently evolved to monthly - but I think I preferred the weekly.)
2) the new advisor in their first 12 months. As leaders, we sometimes sound like a broken record. It amazes me how new advisors will treat the same words delivered by one of the HPN presenters as gospel - now I know how my parents felt.
3) managers, directors, leaders, etc. Much like #2, I sound like a broken record when coaching my management team and Hoopis allows us to tap into the wealth of knowledge of other successful leaders - sometimes the ideas are new & sometimes they reinforce our existing methods - either way, they are invaluable.
As an organization, we love Hoopis and can't imagine how we got this far without it.

"As the person who was given the task to determine if HPN would be of value to our field..... I am thrilled to see the comments from some of our field managers in this thread! Through an assessment of our new advisor and field management value propositions a couple of years ago, we identified that we had a very strong value proposition for advisors in their first 6 months. We also determined that we needed to bring greater value to advisors between 12 months and 48 months. We worked with the HOOPIS team and built a 0-48 month advisor curriculum that integrated HPN content with our own proprietary content. With our strong field management teams we are able to deliver just in time sessions to our many advisors through; 1) self study, 2) facilitated sessions with the new advisor training manager and 3) the coached sessions with the director, business development. We launched HPN at individual implementation meetings at each financial centre in 2010. I can say with great confidence our goal to add value to our 12 to 48 month advisors has been met. I have had at least 6 advisors tell me that HPN kept them in the business with ideas that help them see more people and close more business. Some of our regional directors, regional managers like Joe Flynn above, use the material with their leaders to help hone their skills in the area of recruiting, sourcing and coaching. (by the way Joe, you're right, you do know how your parents felt, now!)
The mobile applications and the ability for advisors to get a boost before an appointment is huge as Tyler has mentioned above.
The partnership, the quality of the videos and content are great, but only as great as the implementation and focused execution by our field management teams and the constant reminder to advisors to visit HPN often."

"We use HPN in a number of ways. Sometimes we use it in a group setting. For instance we are currently running a weekly Granum school. Each Monday for 6 weeks we watch a Granum video then have a discussion on it. A separate method is to assign a video each week for our reps to watch. This is particularly easy for our reps to just tune in and listen while they are driving. Finally, we use it as a prescription for issues that reps may have. If a coach identifies a problem such as prospecting, we can assign them a couple of videos and ask them to report back on it."

"I am a Managing Associate with New England Financial in Austin, TX, and we have been using HPN for new Financial Representatives at our weekly Accountability and Sales Skills meetings. Typically, we show one skills-based session related to our training topic and one motivational session. HPN is a resource that no one company, or under-staffed training department alone can pull together. It provides a unique (and company-agnostic) resource that connects our reps to industry leaders. It also provides timeless advice on the basics of building a practice. I am delighted that NEF and MetLife have added this resource as a cornerstone to our training programs."

"I’m a first year Financial Advisor with Freedom 55 Financial. Still being relatively new to the career I’ve been able to have many successes due to the education that Hoopis Performance Network has provided.
When I first logged into the network I came across a fact finding video by Joey Davenport – Since applying these tips I’m now able to have a deeper understanding for my client’s situation and the necessary steps we need to take.
Since then I’ve watched countless videos from the industry’s top professionals - and I’ve added many of their tips/advice to my growing financial practice.
Having the Hoopis Performance Network at my disposal is absolutely fantastic – I’m constantly educating myself from the best – What more could you ask for!?"

"Working with top Field Managers across the country in Executive, Management and Leadership Coaching, Hoopis Performance Network is proving to be an invaluable adjunct in Firm's Value Props. From top to bottom, side to side....Recruiting, Pre-Contract Training, Initial orientation as well as ongoing development, HPN is likely the best way to compliment and supplement Company and Industry Resources. Conceived, created and maintained from an advisor/agent/Rep perspective, it is definitely an integral part of an Agency's curriculum and support platform. I can only wish that it were an available option during my many years as General Agent for New England Financial. Definitely a state of the art and industry hallmark."

"We utilize the Hoopis Performance Network in a variety of ways. We have our new reps watch videos on prospecting & factfinding at our weekly development meetings. Our full-time recruits experience HPN during our initial sales school with videos about purpose & belief. Finally, every Monday morning at our accountability meeting we watch a 5-8 minute clip to get focused & energized about the week ahead. It's a wonderful resource and our reps have access on their smart phones so they can watch a video at any time. "

"Similar to Keith, we use HPN religiously in our Monday Morning Accountability Meetings. Our Managing Directors, Field Directors and Mentors also use it as a coaching tool when working with our reps under 5 years in the industry. For example, if we identify a rep is suffering from phoning or facting phobias, we prescribe videos videos specific to their current need. We recommend to regroup with them within 48 hours to assess their understanding of the content. We have also found it to be a valuable tool for our reps under 6 months when we cannot find a joint work partner due to schedule conflicts. We will assign 2-3 videos that should mentally prepare them to conduct the meeting alone that early on in their career. These are just a few of the many ways, I hope it helps. To your success. "
